read a very compelling/hopeful blog (https://25yearslatersite.com/2017/09/20/to-all-the-grown-up-lauras/), which looks at the character of laura palmer from the perspective of a survivor. it's interesting because i think lynch is aware of the triggering/traumatic nature of this last season, with characters struggling to come to terms with their own history, in a world dominated by structures of violence but also brief glimpses of humanity.
