Just recalled a brief nightmare from childhood (1980s) that was likely influenced by all the Sesame Street I watched:

A letter (yes, from the alphabet) floated into my room in the dark, a disembodied voice chanting it's name as it bobbed closer.

It was the letter "T."

A week ago I accidentally bought peppermint coffee creamer (bottle was roughly the same color as my usual, and my visual processing goes to shit when I'm braving the sensory-onslaught of the local supermarket) and ever since then it's like Christmas has been pissing in my Halloween every time I have coffee.
