took a nap, woke up with the word "horchata" stuck in my head, which I thought was a spiced hot chocolate, but evidently it's something entirely different. it's also intriguing, except for the bit where several online sources said it involves barley as an ingredient, which puts it on the nope list for me. :/

@green I looked this up on time, out of curiosity, and yeah, there's tons of regional variations. Some places make it with peanuts instead of rice, even.

@emanate @green Now I'm really tempted to see if I can fake up a lazy version out of almond milk, rice milk, and that funky defatted peanut butter powder...

@green It's sadly gone now, but there was a Latin American style cafe near my work, and they had a Horchata Latte coffe drink. Theirs was the peanut-based type, and extra delicious.
