@Austin_Dern I am not familiar with the fake vixen you are talking about, never met her... >_>;;

@mawr Mostly I just really like the phrase "appellation d'origine contrôlée" and try to use it as often as possible. :D

@mawr Yeah, that's why I edited out the "plush" part when I saw it was an RT! I can not speculate on Mx. Kamilumin's compositional status. Looks like flesh, but it's rude to guess, I know. n.n;

re: "Don't 👏 call 👏 someone 👏 a 👏 champagne 👏 socialist 👏 unless 👏 they 👏 come 👏 from 👏 the 👏 Champagne 👏 region 👏 of 👏 France 👏"

@mawr Applying appellation d'origine contrôlée to political discourse...? Pure genius. *chef kiss*

uspol, trump nicknames, possible ableism?

"Lobotomy Luthor."

drugs, microbes

I really hope I just overhit the bong today and I'm not getting sick or something. >_< I guess I'm overdue for a cold, but I think I'm gonna start snarfing zinc in the morning anyhow thanks.

@Balina Awww! *blush* I missed ya too, losing touch with you was definitely one of my (few) regrets about leaving Birdland!

re: parallax

@JulieSqveakaroo Basically the first one. There's precedent, sitting around on an index card somewhere. :D

media; snark

Walking Dead fandom, summarized:

"I used to love this show, but it hasn't been the same since Rick woke up from his coma and met all those dead guys."

parallax

Peg wants to put an extra in the trade paperback of chapter 1: two pages of Parallax written by *her* and drawn by *me*, to show the audience just how easy we're letting them off. I am so looking forward to this now. >:D

honest sentimental moment

Yanno... the last year has been really disenchanting and disillusioning in a lot of ways. I've lost sight of-- or interest in-- so many of the things that attracted me to the postfurry thing in the first place.

But being a plural? The absolute core fantasy-proneness thing, the one that's caused me to chase all this stuff since I was five? The delight that other "adults" actually still have active imaginative lives? Having my own little troupe of fuzzycute Commedia Dell'Arte characters, to play out all my neurosis for me as mostly-harmless furry psychodrama?

That's still pretty rad. And still having people to share it with, at all, is something I'd come to take for granted. In this increasingly colonized, whitewashed, managed world, it's a piece of pure unmanageable chaos, a thorn in the side of people who want you to see yourself as the name on your W-4 and little else. It's a little miracle: the person next to you on the bus might be an Actual Virtual Unicorn.

Thanks for being here for it. Thanks for still accepting me even though I'm a royal pain in the ass when my brain falls out of alignment. Thanks for believing in Rezy and the rest of Team Kincaid in here.

Up Mars! :fist_paw_o1: (Oh, and your own smaller, less bitey worlds are nice too I guess. 😽)

mood; cat; day jorb (++)

We have a small housecat sitting in on our morning web seminar with Mumbai. They have made numerous salient and incisive comments into their companion's mike. I have already exploited my authority as Senior Researcher to insist they pet that cat immediately. <3

@chandra Who the hell wouldn't?! When I finally get around to sending Noelle to visit HOC, should I send her with a tub of something goopy and shiny, and a few brushes? *evil grin*

vent, scat, pooptoot, even more pointless than the previous one, literally just one dirty word

poopsatchels >__________<

@LeDiva

*leaves gift-wrapped chocolate and/or latex dipped mice* 🎂😽💯

@LexYeen@snouts.online I still have one, but it's been fallow for ages. I peek in at the notifications every now and then and marvel at how many people from my hometown still think I want to talk to them. >_>

parallax

In keeping with the previous toot... I had this horrible urge to deliberately put something culturally inflammatory into Parallax, in cynical (and possibly borderline necromantic) hopes of conjuring up some unethical free PR.

And then it dawned on me, whoopsie, I still live in a world where female protagonists, princes in frilly dresses, and flouncy plantbois holding hands ARE culturally inflammatory. For that matter, so is the notion that you should check the facts and understand your opponent instead of casually dehumanizing them.

Heh. *wrings hands like Mr. Burns*

Excellent.

vent; marspol

At this point, I really only have one remaining bucket list item: find a point of mainstream American cultural sensitivity, identify its weaknesses, and hammer on it until it breaks in the loudest, messiest, and most annoying possible fashion.

You ever been playing a board game and suddenly you find yourself in such a terrible board position, there's nothing left to do but play Lord Of Chaos with your remaining cards and just see what interesting broken shit you can pull off when you're no longer concerned about winning?

Yeah, it's that. >___< I'm not playing to "win" my life anymore. I don't think I'll ever get a real victory condition out of this world. The damage to my kink life, my ability to bond with other people, my faith in my culture, and everything else is just too much to recover from.

This game we're playing is not too good about comebacks and longshots. But damn, can I spam a lot of Counterspells before those fuckers take me out, and I hope they're fucking screaming in frustration by the time my dwindling mana pool is finally exhausted. >____<
