suspended from twitter for good, for finally flat-out telling trump to go die after (a) his latest round of election lies and (b) seeing a desperate plea from a rural doctor overwhelmed with COVID cases

i regret absolutely fucking nothing, i create a new account tomorrow, and if they suspend me 49 more times i'll create 50 more. i have come to despise twitter and its executives but i will not stop roaring at this son of a bitch and his allies under any circumstances.

It doesn't HAVE to be analyzed in such cynical terms, It's just what came to mind for me -- when I saw it, my first thought was just "Um, aren't most trees DEAD by the time they're decorated like that and having 'their day?!'")

This cartoon would fit my worldview much better if in the last panel, the conifer's trunk were severed and it had little X-ed out eyes.

I mean, isn't that basically what we did to, just to name one example, Robin Williams? Scorned him and made fun of his inadequacies until he was sacrified, and then he was revered once he was safely dead and thus Perfect Forever?

And all the other artists who nobody showed the faintest appreciation for until they were dead and only existed as a safe, still abstraction...

The fucking pine tree is fine. It was fine before. Its day already came every winter of every year because it was already perfect for its environment. Your fruit is neat and all, Mx. Deciduous, but don't push your friends into being something they don't need, for someone else's approval.

For a long time I was living in a situation -- I won't bother saying with whom -- where something like this, some *active* assistance with my gender and self-image stuff -- was constantly being promised, and every specific request I made was totally ignored.

In retrospect I suspect it's because my idea of what I wanted didn't match the very conventional full-transition path they had planned out for me.

But really, this is all I ever wanted. A little help with hair, clothes, and makeup and a little fucking emotional support.

Today the amount of time I thought I was looking directly at a deceased human was non-zero.

Yeah.

We saw someone passed out on the sidewalk on our way home from the cafe. Their eyes were wide open and we couldn't see them breathe at first.

We called 911 and a few neighbors were gathered around to keep an eye out. By the time the ambulance got there, he was talking and moving a little, so we're greatly relieved.

Best of luck, guy who probably at #306. Poor dude had a pair of glasses and a smart phone nearby, and a jacket tucked under his head, so he probably knew something was going wrong.

That's not *quite* why I don't watch the damn show anymore, but it's... adjacent to the reasons.
