Saw Snowshoe today! Their new Food Guy was out on the porch and called us over to visit!
Apparently, yeah, he is a MUCH better Cat Whisperer than I am, 'cause he actually managed to train Snowy to stay inside. Or possibly Snowy is just a big scaredybutt. They looked great, though, growing so fast.
We also got to meet their new neighbor Smoky, who is apparently jealous as hell of them but was still happy to accept some petting.
Also, just before we arrived, I saw a small black blur dart under a nearby car -- I think Sugarfoot might have gotten a glimpse of her kid. She declined to comment. Empress Shadow, however, upon being informed that we saw her grandkittens and they are well, commented "Mew" and lowered her royal head for a scritch.
@xinjinmeng This all reminds me of a very pleasant dream I had years ago, about a far-leftist butch ratgirl sentai team with the code names Anthrax, Brucella, Cholera, Dengue, and Ebola.
I miss them.
cw: fake christianity, plushie kink
@zx3 So, when I was a preteen, before my fundie phase, I channel-flipped into an episode of the Trinity Broadcast Network's flagship Fake Christian talk show.
Every year they would go through a bunch of that year's childrens toys and cartoons and tell us Why Each One Is Satanic. And after finding traces of demonic influence (usually any trace of magic whatsoever) in Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and so forth... they answered a letter from a parent who was concerned about Popples -- which they could not think of a single possible way could corrupt children.
Cut to 1993. I have just discovered my first Internet mailing list for plushophiles...
Do I really even need to finish telling this story? Formative experience. For like, 90% of the subscribers.
@zx3 I don't know, but I have a terrible story about Popples. Wanna hear it? >:D

Gave a coworker her first 5/5 on an evaluation. That always makes me feel so good. I have been working so fucking hard to actually be constructive with all the advice I give them.
You would still not believe how much nicer of a person I am to my coworkers than I am to the Internet. You folks are really getting the shit end of me and I apologize. 😜
re: media, MCU, Jessica Jones spoilers, (constructive?) anger, kink-adjacent but in an ugly way
@Oneironott Good point. And that's exactly why I'm gonna go back and tough this out and probably go on to Season Two...
@Leucrotta I am probably not a great standard for this because my hair has always grown in infuriatingly fast! Although come to think of it, I shaved recently and then restarted growing it out of laziness and it's been around... 11 days. Hmm. Yeah, even for me that's a bit premature to tell how it's going to look? There is definitely truth that old "sine wave of facial hair attractiveness" meme so I might give it a little more time to mature?
re: media, MCU, Jessica Jones spoilers, (constructive?) anger, kink-adjacent but in an ugly way
@Oneironott Oh lordy lou, she's gonna go full Batman Logic and actually feel GUILTY in the coming seasons about snuffing that POS, isn't she. -___-
complete and utter Jessica Jones spoilers
Haha, yeah, that was totally satisfying. I can do the rest of the series now. Die, motherfucker, die. :D
media, MCU, Jessica Jones spoilers, (constructive?) anger, kink-adjacent but in an ugly way
Yikes. Well.
I got further through the first episode of Jessica Jones than I did last time, long enough to know that I won't be able to go any further without (a) being consumed by murderous rage towards Kilgrave (b) permanently losing several of my kinks.
So instead I'm indulging in a lengthy stoned fantasy about Kincaid the GURPS Tech Level 14 lavavixen torturing Kilgrave in ways that would make Harlan Ellison's worst creations gasp.
It's a pity, 'cause I actually was quite enjoying the show. And yeah, I already know how S1 ends and it's the only reason I can even CONSIDER continuing.
In fact, yeah, I'm just gonna skip straight to that episode and maybe circle back. *evil cackle*
Anyhow. Whoo. It's good for someone with my kinks to be reminded they have VERY clearly defined ethical boundaries to what they can take pleasure in.

some of these are actually gooey enough to press my squeamish buttons but...
postfurry style goals nonetheless
Reminded of this by another thread. This is a little piece of my soul, so be gentle with it.
OK. Try to ignore the choppy audio. This actually turned out pretty good. #steamedhams
today's affirmation
So very very very much of life, especially on the Internet, is an elective. If I don't like it, I can just drop it and get my credits elsewhere. Leaving in mingled apathy and disgust is an underrated strategy.
And if people tell me I'm Doing Something All Wrong, I have the option to just stop doing it for them, *especially* when they start making demands.
