@Chip_Unicorn I'm seeing NAACP v. Claiborne Hardware Co. cited in GARM's favor but I haven't had any time to dig into the details...
@spottyfox Dingo-O!
"Tennis Ball of Omens! Give me drool beyond drool!"
@Phorm YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
@Soreth yes but humans don't bond naturally with abstract concepts so they'd need to get a tube of pack-bonder from their local hardware store -- and it has to be the stuff in the *red* tube, not the blue one 'cause that's a whole different formulation, and it needs to be at least 5X strength or it won't be waterproof and they'll have to reapply their pack-bond after every shower
and then of course you just parge the lath! *nod*
re: uspol (--), MASSIVE CATCH-22 SPOILER
@StormyDragon Not for Snowden. :(
(Granted, Orr and Yossarian are MAJOR heroes of mine... Orr knew EXACTLY the right way to respond to a moral crisis...)
@LexYeen For some reason, I read that first line "do you play..." in the exact same voice as "DO YOU READ SUTTER CANE?" from In The Mouth of Madness :D
@Phorm I was DEFINITELY thinking of that one Egypturnash pic... <3
@Phorm Hmm. My first instinct is that they're monster-adjacent. This may actually vary with the djinn, though! The ifrit in CBS's Evil, for example, is pretty "monstrous" looking, especially in the headular region. Djinn whose most intimidating feature is a floofy tail or a little boopable nose probably don't count as monsters unless they've made themselves at least 15' tall. <3
@LexYeen I mean, it's realer than Wall Drug, the House on the Rock, or the state of Montana, but that's a VERY low bar...
@LeDiva I can't hear "Party of Lincoln" without thinking of the TMBG album.
@LexYeen I've stopped in Weed, CA and I do not concur. :D
@Momentrabbit I know this is probably the wrong message to send, but we talked it over with the other Martians and for this distinguished act of defiance against an uncooperative physical object we would like to award you this authentic tiger stripe. <3
re: US Pol (--)
@ThatGenieProblem @Phorm Yeah, I will say that Biden refusing ANY notion of putting the country before his ego has reversed most of the optimism I was getting from the surprise wins in the UK and France. Their good guys won in both cases because of a strong alliance between far-left and center-left and... nope, we're gonna be Americans about this one. *smirk*
re: US Pol (--)
@Phorm I got a busy workweek (and a Thomas Dolby concert and the Longlegs premiere :D ), and zero guarantees on this, but if I get some time this weekend I will try to sit down with that video myself and get you some concrete details on what's going on behind the scenes... Beau was actually kinda pissed that even that much had leaked, so I suspect I can find more if I dig...
re: US Pol (--)
@Phorm Have I recommended Beau of the Fifth Column on Youtube? He's posted some VERY reassuring stuff lately, and one of his recent videos covers some recent leaks that indicate the DNC definitely has plans to counter Trump-- they are just wisely keeping a low profile. Whether those measures are sufficient or competent, only time will tell and I do share your cynicism-- but I can promise you they *do* exist, hun. It's a tactical move. <3
uspol (--)
While I remain stalwart and hopeful, my cynicism level has been upgraded from "Network" to "Catch-22." At this rate, it's quite possible it'll be at "Strangelove" or higher by November.
Only an equal or greater farce can save us now. I remain hopeful only because the prospects of farce seem exceptionally good right now.
