nomenclature, identity
It just dawned on me that for months or years now I've been getting by without a real online moniker.
My legal first name is Nick, for what it's worth. Many of you probably know that. I'm OK with it. Peg calls me that. It's... fine, though it's less fine here than it is in RL, and NOT fine in non-secure places like Twitter.
I used to be Kincaid. But I retired her so long ago and have so many bad associations with her -- and social anxieties about the swath of rhetorical destruction I left as her. I *kinda* miss that Big Lavavixen Energy? But I can't do business under that name anymore, I just can't.
The zebra character is named Valis, after the Divine Space Laser from Philip K Dick's legendary schizoprophetic episode. Most of you probably didn't even know that. He hasn't had a proper RP forum to exist on in like 10+ years. Valis ain't my name, either.
The Martian Tigress is "Rezeya," of course. I would be tickled red-and-black (the canonical Martian regalia) if you called me Rez or Rezy. But nobody does, not even me. *shrug*
"Zebratron" is meh. It's not a name, it's a weak joke. I've gotten "Z84" a couple of times and it does amuse me, though I feel like I am biting a certain humble and lovable robot projectionist boy's style there. (My friend ZX3.) <3
I dunno. Actually, it kinda feels really appropriate for 2021 (or Month 15 of 2020) to not have a name anymore. Whatever. I miss even feeling like one person, let alone dozens.
re: dayjeorb, nostalgia, seattle, mild bolshevism
honestly if you really love mr vladimir you can just quietly saunter away right now because he was to socialism what st paul was to christianity, a fucking grifter parasite who helped something potentially beautiful evolve into a murderous hatefest
you can find yourself a better commie to love. marcuse and fromm are really really good if you can get past them being old dead straight white men (which is a genuine problem, ask me about "Art of Loving" sometime).
re: dayjeorb, nostalgia, seattle, mild bolshevism
i mean just in general my heart would be really warmed if all you seattleites would hit lenin in the balls whenever you're in fremont and tell him it's from me <3
re: tf, mon hun low hanging fruit shitpost
@chimerror oh you'd just freakin love that you goddamn furry :D
dayjeorb, nostalgia, seattle, mild bolshevism
one of my underlings mentioned the Fremont Troll in an example, and now i'm all verklempt
i miss the big guy and hope he's well, could one of y'all check on him for me and say peg and nick send their warmest regards? oh and hit lenin in the crotch for me. <3
@hystericempress "Mi deh fi tek wha's mine!" <3 <3 <3 She even inspired me to spend a little time reading up on Patois, introducing me to what is now my favorite translation of "I'm fine, I guess": "Mi deh yah." ("I'm there, yeah.") Boy, *that's* a mood.
@Cerulean @anthracite If he lived in a hotel in Reno with a bunch of furries, I met him. And I feel like even if I didn't meet him, I met him.

@anthracite Advice to all who are reading: you gotta get you a partner who can eviscerate Anton LaVey with snark at a moment's notice. 😻😻😻
anxiety, satire, cat health (- but probably trivially minor), my health (--- but definitely imaginary)
This is a damn near perfect metaphor for my anxiety disorder. (Example: We found a tiny bald patch on Artie. It's probably a flea bite. She is a street kitty. This is not dire nor astonishing. But I can't stop fretting over it for NO REASON. Also my heart palpitated ONCE this morning and I AM DEFINITELY DYING YOU GUYS, MY HINDBRAIN ASSURES ME IT IS TRUE, GOODBYE.)
re: cat pics
@balinares Correct. Also Shoomp, Shempers, Shompers, Shoompers, and once in a while, His Royal Highness, Prince Shempington Shempley the Shempty-Shompth. *nod*
@LexYeen But... but... money means security! No money means terror! Oh!
cat pics
Here's a pic of the four scraggles, circa last December, and a comparison pic of Shemp in his current catamountain form... Sometimes I wonder if he didn't just kinda absorb his brothers when we weren't looking... :O
@001zlnv @anthracite Ah, but doesn't the loaf technically require the paws to be tucked UNDER the body?
I feel that just knowing Shadow and Sugarfoot makes me an expert on this topic, especially since knowing the difference between a loaf and a sploot is the difference between life and death when petting Sugarfoot. :p
@anthracite Oops, correction, it has come to my attention that technically "couchant" is not a sploot, which would involve the legs being splayed out *behind* the cosmic pupper in question.
Which just makes me want to commission a heraldic guide (featuring Rezy in full Imperial Martian regalia) that does include a sploot.
whither the zebras of today (~)
Earache/clog is finally subsiding a little bit, enough that I might be able to halfway focus on work. Dealer is showing up tonight with a half ounce. Peggy got her Crazy Magick Jackals Book and it is indeed crazy and magickal. Shadow and Peebs and even Ceejay seemed relatively cheerful this morning.
And I found a bunch of pics from back when Shemp and his three brothers (sadly MIA, but we're ~80% sure at least two of them found good homes!) were teeny scraggly little kittens. And my parents are about to get their 2nd vaccine doses. And I might have mine within the month.
Am I finally going to have a good, normal day? It's been like three weeks. >_<
@Phorm @anthracite You and I should talk about this topic sometimes, geniefox-- it sounds like we both potentially fit in the same box of "mystical rationalist" and I'd love to share some of my observations about how a magickal worldview can be useful even in a world with strictly conventional, rational metaphysical causality and no major obvious loopholes...
