Now I want to smack everyone who said we couldn't specuate about Trump's sanity because it was "ableist."
It's not ableist to tell a myopic jet pilot "you should really get your eye prescription updated," and it's not ableist to tell a narcissistic leader "you really need to get your ass into therapy."
Fighting ableism isn't about pretending everyone is OK Fine, it's about making sure everyone gets the healthiest outcome without UNWARRANTED prejudice.

I don't think this is *actually* a productive notion, but lord knows it soothes my weary soul. And the idea of shamelessly putting them through exactly the same kind of gaslighting, demonization, and cheap sophistry they've put us through... it really panders to some cruel and thoroughly exhausted part of me.
We've got a factoid. We've got a motive. We've got no reason for mercy anymore. I'm SO TEMPTED to just run with it and have a little fun.

So it looks like they're blaming "human involvement" for the latest round of California wildfires. And don't I remember the _last_ guy caught up in this being a right-wing conspiracy theorist?
I don't seriously advocate this, but... hell, wanna just take after the modern GOP, create our own reality, and pass it around as a "known fact" that the far-right set all the California fires in an attempt to economically sabotage a liberal part of the country?
ANNOUNCEMENT
I have eaten 22 pieces of Italian nougat today. Eight of them were coated in lemon white chocolate.
So where's *my* op-ed in the Times, huh?!
This jigsaw puzzle looks like pure fucking evil.

I'm so glad the response to the anonymous high-level "resistor's" NYT op-ed seems to be basically "Fuck you, coward, you don't get to have your cake and eat it too."
Whoever the hell it is-- my guess is Pence and/or one of his speechwriters, look up the "lodestar" theory-- I hope he hangs with the rest of them. Nobody gets to wriggle out of this by pretending to be Secret Friend To Democracy at the last minute.

Many thanks to @Leucrotta for this ocelot footage. Well, I have my style goals for the next year.
@anthracite, you'd be okay with being randomly pounced and mauled in this fashion, right? 'Cause I'm getting a lot of good tips from this little dude.
gaming nostalgia; general nostalgia; travel
So, in the 90s tabletop RPG "Torg," there was an alternate universe mentioned in passing, named Zone Dubbed Dol.
All the other worlds in Torg were measured by numbered ratings from 0 to 30, in Social, Tech, Magic, and Spirit. Zone Dubbed Dol, as the result of a reality-weapon accident, had a zero in all four categories.
In totally unrelated news, I'll be spending the next week in Northeast Ohio. Please send all the possibility energy you can spare.🙄

Man, I am in a weird, tender state of mind today.
I'm in a good enough mood, just been getting all sentimental and nostalgic at the drop of a hat lately.
Part of it's just that damned Joanna Newson/Gumball earworm, which has gotten to the point of being a genuinely frustrating problem.
Part of it's heading home to Ohio for a week with my parents, knowing that they're not getting any younger. I've been thinking about loss, a lot, this year.
Part of it's just missing some people bad.

For the 12th time... could someone please explain boycotts to the right-wingers!?
"So, let's go over this again. You DON'T buy the product then destroy it. You just don't buy it at all."
"But then we never have the thing we want!"
"Yes. That's right. You never have the thing you want. Because you don't want them to have your money."
"Never have the thing? Sounds un-American! Can't we just buy one and trash it or rip off the logo or make them write Merry Christmas on it instead?"
Shot in the dark here:
I remember someone in the community mentioning something about a year back about work-from-home jobs helping edit (NOT write) students' essays.
Was that any of you, was it any good, are they still going, and do you still have their contact information?
If anyone has a lead on any other decent work-at-home job, I'd be grateful for those, too! My HERE job is still quite stable, I'd just love to put in a few more hours and start helping @anthracite with rent. ^_^;
