@KawaSeadrake Like, there are ways to do it, but Mastodon wasn't designed that way. I *think* you could have the poster's instance sign the post/files with the remote user's public key, but the user's private key would have to be stored in a client application or something. No good if the remote instance has access to the key, because a leak is likely to contain both (to say nothing of a malicious admin).

@KawaSeadrake Not ideal is a good way of putting it. XD It's a hard problem though, because how else does someone on another instance see what you post here?

@KawaSeadrake On this instance, yes, but the replication protocol means that that data does leave this instance. Someone else could leak it, even through an unintentional security breach.

Question for folks who care about account separation for AD accounts... How do you manage that here? Or do you leave your AD on twitter? (I ask because the Mastodon replication protocols means that every post is effectively public.)

A question about Byzantium

@literorrery @drwho *stares blankly in Latin*

Death of a Parent, Services.

@IrisKalmia In my case, the exact people who would have had a problem with it aren't comfortable with me anymore. Long story, but a lot of not goodness at the moment. :(

@Felthry He mentioned that there was an incident involving a one-ton spill in that article. :P

@Felthry The notion of a one-ton spill of that stuff is utterly terrifying. D:

Anger, Politics

@mawr Resonance with my own pain. That song hit like a bullet train.

Anger, Politics

My anger is slowly simmering down, but I am /seriously/ angry. [Why] The fuck do they get off not seeing the real world and judging us for not following their fucking rules?

Like, if there are people who *specifically want to kill me*, what the fuck am I doing playing nice instead of tearing their world down around them?

(Originally a series of tweets that I want to expand on here.)

Listened to Faint by Linkin Park the whole way home. Think I'm done with this shit.

I am very, very angry.

If I am going to be treated like an existential threat, perhaps I had better start acting like one.

And just to be clear, I don't mean that in terms of violence towards anybody. I mean that in terms of systematic destruction of *systems*.
