Trying to Build a Mastodon Instance
@mawr FYI, I've tried out Proxmox VE as a virtualization solution lately at work, and I really like it. Debian 9 based, and supports ZFS for storage and CEPH for clustering!
Vented my anger re: today on twitter mostly but still kinda pissed. This link helped me process a bit of it, though. https://www.lawfareblog.com/impeachable-offense

@makyo Any of those will work. You can email me at zeta@thispartmightjustbemyusername.org

@makyo I'd be happy to give it a read and send some feedback, but it might take me a few days?
@Felthry That is a great, great quote. :D
Also, this library is stupidly easy to use: https://github.com/halcy/Mastodon.py :D
I SENT A TOOT FROM #MYARCHIVE! :D

Oh my gosh, this presentation. I'm laughing way, way too hard. XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j42Zfl7NTLA https://awoo.space/media/qarFRafFoA0eum5q8Jk
@makyo Mind if I telegram you re: this at some point?
For example: pip is great for development, but not a good plan for end-user application installations. And many libs don't have packages in distribution repositories.
Programmers, especially Python ones: How do you chose to distribute required third party libs with an application?
FYI for anyone watching the project, I've moved #myarchive development to a github organization: https://github.com/ArchiversAnonymous
This is so I can keep forks of the dependencies organized since a lot of useful third party libraries aren't being actively maintained by their original developers.
In smaller news, Dreamwidth pulls are now working, but I have to revamp the main git repo to pull from the new org structure, so it's a bit busted right now... XD
