@socks most types of thing have a generic driver in addition to specific drivers, so i'm guessing something along those lines. like you can use any old usb keyboard with generic usb HID drivers, but if you have a fancy keyboard that supports n-key rollover and macros and stuff you need manufacturer-specific drivers to use those features

@socks also windows has a weird tendency to say it's installing drivers whenever you plug in a new flash drive, when what it's really doing is (i think) just checking what the device is and whether it needs to install drivers for it

@Felthry @socks nkro doesn't need a specialized driver, neither should macros, you might need software to define them but they should just send standard keycodes
