@Crocabit Only Real gamers Know
@poss_bot @Moot @KommaChameleon @Crocabit this thread is ending my life
@ShugoWah @poss_bot @Moot @KommaChameleon @Crocabit of course, it's hard to beat anyone using such an advanced control method as this
http://llg.cubic.org/docs/prohance70.jpg
@ShugoWah @poss_bot @Moot @KommaChameleon @Crocabit or even the dreaded dual Namco rotary controller combo. How do you even compete with that?
@KommaChameleon @Felthry @ShugoWah @Moot @Crocabit (listen i kinda actually want this bc i have a copy of VOOT for DC)
@poss_bot @KommaChameleon @ShugoWah @Moot @Crocabit what's VOOT?
@Felthry @poss_bot @Galuade @ShugoWah @Moot @Crocabit Virtual On is a one-on-one mecha fighting game from the 90s featuring a behind-the-back camera and a dual stick control scheme. It's played split screen or on separate displays.
VOOT is "Virtual On Ontario Tangram", the Dreamcast version of the game.
@Felthry WHOOPS I kinda typed it wrong, it's "Oratorio Tangram". It's a pretty thesaurus name but
Oratorio = a large-scale opera
Tangram = a puzzle about rearranging shapes
So it's basically a fancy way of saying "Virtual On: Grand Remix". Tangram is also the name of one of the game's villains.
@KommaChameleon that's still a rather strange name.
@KommaChameleon though I guess plenty of games have really strange names. Radiant Historia, Infinite Undiscovery, Exist Archive
@Felthry @KommaChameleon Bravely Default
@KommaChameleon @poss_bot Romancing SaGa
@KommaChameleon @Felthry @poss_bot Thousand Arms
@ShugoWah @KommaChameleon @poss_bot Wild Arms
@Felthry @ShugoWah @KommaChameleon Coded Arms
@poss_bot @ShugoWah @KommaChameleon Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
@poss_bot @ShugoWah @KommaChameleon also Legend of Dragoon
@poss_bot @ShugoWah @KommaChameleon which would probably make sense if it had an article in there and I think it actually does but the logo makes it very unclear whether it's The Legend of Dragoon or Legend of the Dragoon
@KommaChameleon @Galuade @poss_bot @ShugoWah well I don't know if Skyrim counts as a pun, that always struck me more as a kenning that became the name of the place
