Kidnapped by the Clelands from Blue Ruin... and rescued by the cast of Comedy Bang Bang.
It was nice knowing you all.
@zebratron2084 kidnapped by Fargo: WELL FUCK
rescued by Bunnicula: ummmm how would that even work? XD
@green yeah, i mean, strictly speaking wasn't the whole plot of bunnicula that he didn't actually do much of anything to start with?
@zebratron2084 as I remember it, Bunnicula was... the plot token, rather than an active character, through almost the entire story; it was the cat and dog that did all the things. (I will never not giggle when thinking of "pounding a steak through his heart" in the kitchen late at night) so unless you can be rescued by a rabbit sucking all the juice out of vegetables, you're kinda boned. XD WOOD CHIPPER TIME
@green Evidently the new CN series has Bunnicula just be flat-out blatantly supernatural, and... you know, I'm kinda happy about that, because one, they're using it as an excuse for crazy TF shenanigans and two, the original fake vampire schtick was kinda... forgive me... bloodless?
@zebratron2084 @green I didn't know there was a Bunnicula cartoon until now! :-P
@emanate @zebratron2084 I am both intrigued and vaguely horrified--Bunnicula was one of my Formative Furry-Esque Influences when I was Quite Short.
@green @zebratron2084 Same here!
Though I think I read a lot more of the Mouse on a Motorcycle series that influenced me more. Also, Richard Scarry books. :-P
@green And nah, I'd be fine! I realized that it's actually very easy to survive a Coen Brothers film: just get REAL Lawful Good, REAL fast, and stand the fuck out of everybody's way if a large sum of money shows up. And don't sleep with a covetous lunatic. >_>;
*stares at @anthracite*
Uh-oh.
@zebratron2084 @anthracite *snickersnickerlol*
@zebratron2084 @green lunatic, yes. Covetous? Meh. I got my hoard. I don’t need to run around after another one.
@anthracite @green Never mind the doubloons, I'm talking about ME! :O
@zebratron2084 kidnapped by the cast of Nova Seed, rescued by... I think the cast of Gurren Lagann.
Yeah I’m good.
@anthracite See you in 20 minutes. That skullhead wuss couldn't capture a molepig. -_-
@Balinares I've always admired Red Dwarf for its grinning indifference to its own continuity. XD
Yeah, I'm kinda a sucker for not just indifference but utter lampshading of a lack of continuity.
Zim: "Whew, sure was a totally crazy adventure with that ham demon." (between commercial breaks)
See also all the "Next Time On Arrested Development" which were never things that happened in said episode, but were canon all the same.
@emanate @Balinares @zebratron2084 I'm trying to think of a dis/continuity like this that I'm familiar with... other than Doctor "I See You Escaped From Castrovalva" Who, which also has the excuse of TIME TRAVEL SHENANIGANS
@green @Balinares @emanate I mean, it's something you very rarely see outside of comedy/satire. (The other big example that comes to mind is Childrens Hospital, which has something more like negative continuity...)
@zebratron2084 @emanate @Balinares this discussion is just making me more anxious for the continuity-jamming RP game you've been hinting at, by the way. XD
@zebratron2084 Hrm. Usually shy away from these, but...
I'd be captured by the cast of The Dark Crystal. That could be bad, depending.
My rescue would be spearheaded by *Coughcoughmumblemumble*ponies*Coughmumble*
Not sure how that'd break. Those Skeksis can be nasty, and I doubt Garthim would be easy to tangle with.
@Phorm @zebratron2084 with luck you'd be held captive by podlings and could enjoy the podlings vs. ponies hijinks with a ringside seat!
@zebratron2084 @Phorm "TRIAL BY ROCK!"
(Maud steps forwards)
@Momentrabbit @zebratron2084 *Standing Ovation*
Bravo, bravo.
@Phorm @Momentrabbit "It is not fair! The pony knows this rock personally! HMMMMMMMMMMM!"</SkekSil>
(My other options were Fargo and, if you count intro clips on Youtube as "watching a TV show," um, Bunnicula. This was not fated to go well.)
