@hystericempress Thank you for putting up with those of us who can't quite get to "reliable" no matter how hard we try. Reliable folks are super appreciated. :)

A switch has silently been flipped in millions of instances of Google Chrome: those browsers will begin sorting their users into groups based on behavior, then sharing group labels with third-party trackers and advertisers around the web. eff.org/deeplinks/2021/03/goog

@porsupah I ended up with Garnet, which is no insult – and not the first time I've heard that!

there is a crack in everything. that's how the light gets in.

@starkatt I know, right?

1994: "We have this idea for a Universal Serial Bus that'll make every device connection easy and reliable. Everyone should use this!"

2008: "Shit, now everybody's using it. Suppose it's time to make the connector itself easy and reliable?"

the existence of oVo and uWu suggests other cutesy speech vowel-consonant combinations no longer used, aXa and iZi. We can see this in the word “eYe.” In this paper I will

The NES game I'm working on is having a public beta test. Maybe you'd like to try out a demo of a new NES game?

It's called Alwa's Awakening.

re: Them's Fightin' Herds

@porsupah Depends on how much fighting game experience you have. The easiest of the five difficulty settings allows for simple play that boils down to "react to prompt with button". It's a good place to start, and I should probably spend more time there getting comfortable with blocking and evasion before I do any more work on actual damage.

It also has a story mode I dipped into for a couple hours earlier, and so far it's like a slow piece-at-a-time tutorial. It's an overhead RPG-style thing that jumps to the fight-game part for combat. Goofy and delightful!

Them's Fightin' Herds

Okay, so I love a lot about this game, but I think it's cranked up just a leeeeetle too fast for my poor decrepit aaaaancient no-longer-fifteen-years-old hooves.

I'll keep trying for a bit anyhow. Why not. My fightstick was collecting dust anyhow.

@hystericempress One Must Fall: Battlegrounds supposedly did that, though I never played the game. I do love much of what's on the OST, though.

Now I really want to try this game, though I know I'd never be any more than an amateur at it.

why the fuck was it called mario teaches typing and not super mario prose
