"I've never seen the media interview a black parent about how race is being taught to their children."
The #Meta plot thickens! Turns out that #Facebook doesn't actually own the name Meta because it belongs to another company that's currently in stealth mode.
That didn't seem to stop Facebook from publicly announcing the name change and branding, quite the Zuck move.
Meta (the real one) have posted a public letter about this on their front page. I'm linking the Archive copy because the front page will be eventually replaced by an actual website:

people shit on "It"s Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown" and rightfully so, but let us speak bluntly about one thing: buttered toast and home-popped popcorn are top-tier food items. sometimes buttered toast is the best thing in the world. if somebody offered me buttered toast and popcorn for Thanksgiving, hell yes i'm going to their house.
Anyway here's the video for day 2 of #novembeat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LftK5OSG3nc

last night Ursula K. Le Guin visited my dreams and I said to her "Queerness is a long thread of hurt" and she answered "Now what will you mend with that thread?" and it rocked me so hard I woke up crying

Yelling at software-shaped cloud, nothing to see here, move along.
Adobe's central Creative Cloud app – the one that's there to slow startup times, eat resources, and occasionally fetch "bug fixes and performance improvements" updates for actual design software – nags for updates to itself (not the design stuff) every time it starts up. If declined a few times in a row, Adobe starts emailing reminders to do so.
They email me to nag me to update the software updater.
Adobe, just fuck off already.
