Attention deficit disorder.

How is it I can't focus on a damn thing and it's only 16:00?

How is it I'm bored when I have a laptop full of projects to work on and things to do?

How is it I can have nervous energy and yet not want to do anything more strenuous than curl up in bed and listen to videogame music?

. . . oh, right. Attention deficit disorder. *deep breath* I am not lazy, crazy, or stupid. I'm having to work with/around/against a legitimate disability.

From their FAQ:

"Q: Why block browsers instead of just making it clear they aren’t supported?"

"A: We want you to have the best experience of Slack that you possibly can. If we aren’t actively fixing issues or bugs in these browsers, your experience will suffer and we want to avoid that completely."

Well, I'm not having the best experience I possibly can, you meatheads. MY EXPERIENCE IS SUFFERING.

Fuck you, Slack. Fuck you very much.

Slack has locked me out because my browser – Waterfox 53.0.1, a perfectly legitimate third-party build of Firefox 53 – is "no longer supported". No explanation of precisely how, and not even the option to try and see if it works anyhow/

"Switch browsers or download our app!" The Slack "app" is just a bloody Chrome window anyhow, and there's a reason I don't allow Chrome on my system.

Fuck you, Slack.

And with that.... Good night, me lovies, and dream well! ☮&♥

Cannabinoids, collectivism.

To wit:

Cannabis helps me be positive, hopeful, compassionate, and forward-thinking. I will never again live in a place where that's considered dangerous and illegal.

Where this all ties together is that I had a not-so-satisfying day. I wanted to do some research, but I couldn't focus enough to bring it all together. The day slid away from me; it happens. So I got to the evening hours and decided to light up a bowl of a strain called Cheese Quake (thanks @tixagon ♥).

Over the course of the next hour, I found myself able to relax, to convert all my tension and anxiety into a desire to see a better future.

Getting there will be difficult because we have to overcome the momentum of so much accreted ugliness and fear. Political, social, and economic systems that "worked just fine before" aren't solutions – they are stages of evolution.

I know this can't be an instant revolution. I know that it'll take more than my lifetime for us to sort any of this out all the way. But we could skip a lot of the suffering if we destigmatised the adjustment of one's own neurotransmitters.

When I get stoned, my anxieties melt away. The censors and guards are asleep, leaving open the border between What Is and What Could Be. I can slip past cynicism and see the future.

This future doesn't have room or patience for the primitive, transitional ways we do things now. No sentient being's time is worth less than any other's. We stop struggling because we really can live lives of passion and leisure, because there really is plenty for all – and I mean _all._

I really enjoy "Is this a demo in your pocket?" (pouet.net/prod.php?which=65997) those days for its aesthetic (specially the title screen for some reason) and the music

My wife asks, "Furry con or pony con?"

I answer, "Pony con's worse. More dead horses to beat."

People who wanna be capitalists should all just go play EVE Online or something and leave non-consenting parties out of it.

No, seriously though, "here's all my feelings about this!" is a lot of the time a really good way to approach difficult interpersonal situations.

People so often seem to feel like you need to hold your emotional cards close, but as long as you and the other parties involved are on basically the same team, sharing is okay and makes things so much clearer to everyone.

Done playing for now. I seriously feel, like, pre-beginner tier.
