Shit What Electric Keet says

The game Dead Cells can be thought of as...
Thanks to @Valerie_Elysee for introducing me to this!
The game Dead Cells can be thought of as...
...doing for Castlevania what 20XX does for Mega Man.
Despite being in "Early Access", this game is already immensely playable. Movement is fluid without being too fast to follow, combat is nicely dynamic, the randomised level creation is smooth and compelling, and the roguelike elements show themselves early and with delight.
I'm no good at it yet, mind, but I'm eager to see how far I can manage.
The ongoing health insurance saga (bad but amusing!)
To be clear, I'm okay with the concept of ECT, but I already have attention-disorder-related memory issues and thus it's already contraindicated.
I'm also okay with drugs being named like Pokémon, but this would be a drug to stack on top of another drug to "augment" it and we've already established that such meds don't work right on me.
That third thing... well, check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisher_Wallace_Laboratories and you be the judge, eh?
Such nonsense.
The ongoing health insurance saga (bad but amusing!)
The group that handles the "external review" part of the claim denial appeal process had one of their doctors call me for evaluation, but he:
• hadn't read my file
• confused me with another patient from earlier in the day)
• didn't help me make my case to Anthem
• suggested three additional treatments: ECT (the evolved offspring of shock treatment), a drug that sounds like a Pokémon, and the amazingly dubious "Fisher-Wallace Stimulator"
Just learned there's a patron saint of (overcoming) procrastination, although (a) he might not have existed, (b) he was known as 'Expeditus', exactly like you might have said if you had to bluff your way through answering "who's the patron saint of overcoming procrastination?" or were Mel Brooks writing a movie you weren't trying too hard on, and (c) if he did exist he was martyred by beheading, so, think about how quickly you want to respond to this.

Also, yes, until a couple days ago I'd been really quiet and such here because of deep depression, but the last couple of days I've been absent because I've felt a bit of temporary relief, enough to absorb into a project.
A goofy over-complicated project involving my Windows keymap. Because #unicodenerd is why.
Donkey Kong scandal
Billy Mitchell was stripped of his Donkey Kong championship, and his perfect Pac-Man game is stricken from the record, as video game record-keepers Twin Galaxies conclude his million-point Donkey Kong score was not on a genuine arcade machine:
Unicode 11.0 is adding rating-system-style half-stars. FINALLY. Years after they'd have been most useful to me (I may explain later) and literal decades since they'd have made some freakin' sense to include, yeah?
Codepoints 2BE8 through 2BEB. I'm psyched. #unicode #unicodenerd #nerd
