like, ukraine is of course the one to worry about and send aid and stuff but

i can't help but wonder what this is going to do to the upper echelons of russia's political stage

obviously in a just world everyone even remotely involved gets sacked and barred from holding any position with more power than mcdonalds shift manager ever again, but this isn't a just world

i'm pretty confident that at least the most closely involved people are going to get the boot, though. and hopefully the whole thing will result in the long term in marginally better people in charge over there

i just hope we make it to that without too many more lives lost
