@Elttob@tech.lgbt I don't want to be That Guy, but could you explain what the problem with the second part is? The first one is maybe a problem with people's understanding more than anything that can be done here, but the second part feels as obvious to us as the fact that you would get rejected if you tried to log into gmail with your yahoo email account

but we've been here since 2017 so i probably don't see things the way a newcomer does
-F

@sharkNserg someone else has told us that apparently the reason is that the newcomers somehow got the idea that posts don't federate without them????
-F

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz @astralcreatures@hellsite.site there are tilesets and stuff to make it less confusing--highly recommend looking up the lazy newb pack, which includes both a bunch of tilesets that give you better graphics, and things like dwarf therapist that make it much less confusing
-F

it feels weird seeing people use #-tags on here for basically every post

is that how stuff was on twitter?

-F

@NotOneZero @stampy "Free speech" is a phrase used to get plausible deniability, not something they *actually* want. They want to be allowed to be as bigoted as they like, while not allowing people to fight back.

Conservativism's core tenet: There must be in-groups who the law protects but does not bind, and out-groups who the law binds but does not protect. (we don't recall who that quote is from)

@gardevoir we wanted to know because vocals in music are deeply unpleasant for us, if it didn't we would have listened to it. We don't need a description.
-R

@stampy He's made it official policy on twitter that anyone mentioning other social media gets banned.
-F/R

@katja I love the word "y'all'dn't've" because it's not even that uncommon in certain dialects
-F

@Quest it pronouns are great, i wish we had more situations to hear peoplle use them for me
-F

@KinkyTurtle Well sure but changing scripts mid-sentence is awkward and we don't know the hebrew script anyway
-F

@pup_hime it's a 2d castlevania game, they're contractually obligated to have good music

Happy Hannukah/Chanukah (still not sure which if either of those spellings is correct) to those who celebrate it!
-F

@typhlosion sorry if we got a little too detailed or infodumpy or anything! nap well, typhfriend
-F

@typhlosion that was the norm for the longest time, many IBM PC-compatibles as well as early Macs had these terrible rechargeable lithium batteries (not the same chemistry as modern li-ion i don't think) for holding the cmos memory, and they would eventually leak after years in storage and the corrosive electrolyte wreaks havoc on the motherboard they're soldered onto

countless old computers have succumbed to the cmos plague

re: kolektiva.social fediblock, anti-Blackness (3/3)

@fmmniell@rage.love no, it's visible just fine from here on awoo. maybe try opening it in a separate tab? That works for us when things don't federate right.
-R

@LexYeen @artemis@vulpine.club @tillianisafox depending on how serious you are about it, soundproofing foam sheets are available from sites like McMaster, too. more expensive than just hanging up stuff you already have, but more effective too

if you hang up clothes and stuff, try to focus on thick, soft fabrics. coats, sweatshirts and sweatpants, wool sweaters, towels, maybe a thick curtain borrowed from another room--tshirts and khakis won't do much

the Hearth :ms_agender_flag: boosted

best pokemon rival

@anthracite they didn't say it wouldn't work on other days. they're just being thorough in taking note of their experimental biases
