@owashii@plush.city the wii motion plus, i'm pretty sure, was a cost thing--the extra hardware would have made the already-expensive wiimotes (remember this was when a controller wasn't expected to be wireless and would probably cost like $20 or $25; the wiimote was $40 at launch) cost even more

a few years later, the price of a good MEMS accelerometer plummeted and they were able to release a wii remote with integrated wiimotionplus hardware for the same price

@owashii@plush.city we don't know the details, just that it was a horrible barely-playable glitchy mess when they launched the n64 emulation, and even when they fixed that the graphics were still fucky
