@monsterblue all we ever did was covers of video game music we liked at the time, hang on a minute let me find some -F
@monsterblue oh you're asking for commissions, missed that
we're not remotely good enough to do that, not to mention that we haven't touched it in like 8 years
-F
@monsterblue we did a long time ago, it's neat stuff
-F
@noiob why does x11 need replacing?
-F
@scruss Electrical engineering.
-F
@scruss I don't think you can say there's a specific amount for that--99% vs 99.4% efficiency is a big difference, that's significantly less wasted energy, but if it's 70% vs 70.4% that's not much of a difference.
-F
@codl it feels like it should be obvious that this is possible but also: why would you do that
we don't do web programming at all but we know there are languages with features designed to make that kind of stuff work and C++ is not one of them
-F
@relee get some sleep! you can post more stuff tomorrow
-F
re: long post
@typhlosion and i don't think there's any real significant advantage of 48 kHz over 44.1, you only really need a little bit more than 40
-F
re: long post
@typhlosion that's fair!
it's still a bit of an odd number but it makes a bit more sense now
-F
re: long post
@typhlosion oh you meant things like just using a VHS tape to store digital audio, i missed that
dunno why the CD would have kept that though--either DCC or DAT or both, don't remember, used 48 kHz, and I think SACD might have also been 48 kHz?
...why do we talk about it as kHz instead of ksps anyway
-F
re: long post
@typhlosion Hm, how *is* the audio stored on VHS? I thought VHS used analog audio
i was wondering if it might have something to do with the color burst frequency or something though, because that shows up a lot in the weirdest places
-F
@bj So wait, is each layer monochromatic?
-F
@bj Ooh, having sprite outlines as their own layer is an interesting idea (as is having multiple layers to a sprite, beyond the usual stuff like "separate head and body sprites" and "mario's eyes in super mario 2")
-F
@heatherhorns something to do with trix being for kids
