actually thinking about xray machines, there might still actually be CRTs in production just because they're a good simple way of producing x-rays for imaging purposes

you don't need either the phosphors or the leaded glass in that case though

i wonder how hard it would be to make new CRTs today

what part of them is it that's illegal now? Is it the leaded glass? Or something with the phosphors? I don't know how you could get around the leaded glass unless a CRT that blasts the viewer with x-rays is acceptable (it is in xray machines but not for screens), but if it's the phosphors you might be able to develop other formulations that work

re: music reccomendation request again?

@relee When you say "sounds like a train", this is the first thing that comes to mind: youtube.com/watch?v=bk_xjIFlfZ (also very good reorchestration of the same: youtube.com/watch?v=1ZaeluXvHK)

Other music from that soundtrack is also very trainy, like youtube.com/watch?v=5W_bFLwB0W and youtube.com/watch?v=yWHM9kSC6d

just a very straightforward, constant rhythm with little change to it, i think that's the key to making train music

@noiob the last time we used a playstation was a ps3, which had a select button
-F

Random reminder that you should probably test your smoke alarms to make sure they're working properly and don't need a new battery. Those things are important!
-F

@noiob i mean i know microsoft calls it "back" and nintendo calls it "-" now but it's still, a button on the controller
-F

@noiob what do you mean "don't have that button anymore"?
-F

we are playing final fantasy stranger of paradise and i would just like to know: who the *fuck* decided that select of all buttons would be a good default for your main "interact with thing" button

you know, the button that's A in almost every other game
-F

@noiob the bigger problem is that literally nothing in the window renders on the steam link, it just displays as a blank window even though it renders fine on the computer
-F

@noiob the answers are:
- i don't know it breaks for other reasons (none of it renders to the streamed view???) but i can bypass it by using the mouse at the computer
- yes
- i don't know

-F

@noiob does the epic games launcher support controller input? and will the steam link properly switch the window it's displaying? why am i asking you this instead of just trying it and finding out?
-F

@JulieSqveakaroo @Austin_Dern it's a common thing, similar to putting a line through a Z to distinguish it from a 2 or a line through a 0 to distinguish it from an O, sometimes you see a line through a 7 to distinguish it from a 1
-F

@noiob The game executable, which has worked for everything before but it's looking like we might need to figure out a way to defeat the DRM or something then
-F

@noiob so we put the last error message from right before it closes into google translate and it says "Please start Geichi from epic games launcher"

here are the three error messages in order, the first two are before the developer logos and the last one after, the game closes when pressing A on the last one
-F

okay we are trying to play final fantasy stranger of paradise, but we play all our pc games using a steam link, and this has worked fine in the past by just adding things as non-steam games to steam, but when we try to do that with stranger of paradise it pops up several warning/error messages in japanese and just exits

does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it
