@noiob some things do, like PCI the entire bus has to run at the speed of the slowest thing on it (which.... yeah good thing we have PCIe now)

I²C has a neat variant where the bus can run faster but a slow device can actually hold the clock low to force it to run at a slower speed

Does anyone know, can a USB 3.x hub support multiple simultaneous downstream USB 2.0 high speed links? Like, could you get the full 480 Mbps on two separate usb 2.0 devices plugged into the same usb 3.x hub?

combine this with easy availability of simple hacking methods that don't work if you bother to secure your data but work perfectly fine if you don't, and millions of rebellious (or even wronged) teenagers worldwide, *someone* is going to do it eventually
