@pup_hime It uses your location to calculate sunrise and sunset times, since that depends on latitude
-F

@artemis we have not played horizon but i feel like really, if your opponents are robots, the easier low-tech option for self-defense is water balloons and a sling
-F

@artemis though a real powerful arbalest firing appropriately designed bolts could probably do a fair bit of damage while still being technically portable
-F

@artemis of course an arrow launched from a ballista would probably be able to punch through modern half-inch steel plate or more but, well, you can't exactly carry a ballista around with you
-F

@artemis an appropriate arrowhead launched from an appropriate bow or crossbow can absolutely punch through armor, there were historical ones specifically designed to do that

this is talking about like, medieval to renaissance plate armor at the most though, which was limited in thickness due to the need to be able to actually wear it without collapsing under the weight, and also made of 17th century quality steels at best (which were pretty good but modern steel is better)

-F

@LexYeen You'd think they'd also have a problem with people putting names in there then

all the ca-dmv-bot posts make us really want to know

what does the california dmv have against area codes???
-F

@oceanotter I believe it's common in at least some cultures for it to either be distributed among the shrine's tenders, or given to the poor

burnt offerings are a different matter, of course--they're not really in usable condition after burning, though the ashes might be usable as fertilizer

@socks after seeing you get so into it, we got a copy on our ereader to read! looking forward to giving it a read

@roxy Textbox logging is *such* a good thing, i'm glad you have it
-F

@heatherhorns maybe their instance doesn't federate with awoo

this is why we always tell people to include a link to the boost you're talking about when you do an LB
-F

@heatherhorns i am. confused as to how this relates to your last boost? as far as we can see, your last boost is stuff about time travellers
-F

re: <begin furry superthought>

@LexYeen nah, no problem!
-F

re: <begin furry superthought>

@LexYeen oh i was wondering why we didn't see this on the other account, you somehow replied to the wrong account!
-F

@heatherhorns the last one of those sounds like the subject of an xkcd what-if
