i think the weirdest thing we've learned about language is that adjectives go in a fixed order when more than one is used for the same noun, but 1) no one ever gets *taught* that and 2) everyone seems to get the order right regardless

consider: eight-limbed otter taur, front four limbs usable as either legs or arms

they're sized closer in scale to a common river otter than to a typical anthro, so even balancing awkwardly on their hind legs they only get to a bit over a meter tall
