hey @IceWolf randomly wondering how you're enjoying ocarina of time, how far have you gotten in it?
-F

If you approximate how much you respect someone, that's an esteemation

hyrule warriors screenshot, minor early-game spoilers, oversight

most of the time, in missions where you fight a playable character, they go to the trouble to prevent you from actually playing as that character, even if you can't actually play as that character until you replay it

turns out on the very first story mission where you meet (and fight) revali, they forgot to make it so that you can't replay it as revali

it's canon, zelda is nonbinary

i have to say some of the playable characters in age of calamity really surprised us

This is my favorite kind of code project - it's sloppy and arcane but it does something cool, enjoy my infinite vector bird avatar generator: codepen.io/gulfie/pen/PoGomGy

i just realized

we've seen people say things like "Alec Technologyconnections" to refer to the host of the youtube channel Technology Connections

this is exactly how a lot of surnames (at least in the west?) originated

"which Tom are you talking about?" "Tom the baker" "Oh Tom Baker, got it"

hey @starkatt, you seem most likely of the people we know to have an answer to this: do you have a preferred crimping tool? And crimp type while we're at it; some connectors have a round bit you squeeze tight onto the wire and others are kinda U-shaped where you fold the arms of the U in on top of things

we're going to need to crimp a few 8 AWG wires soon and the generic crimp tool we have only goes down to 12

oh i ended up finding the answer to this, things rated in mmHg or inHg are generally rated on their negative gauge pressure, while things rated in fractional torr or μmHg are rated on absolute pressure
-F

Show thread

er, actually this is talking about inches of mercury, so inHg not mmHg

but same question still stands
-F

Show thread

anyone here familiar with vacuum pumps? when something says max vacuum of 26 mmHg, does that mean that it can go to -26 mmHg gauge pressure, or that it can go to +26 mmHg absolute?

colorful things look like they should taste sweet...

i don't think we'd enjoy the taste of KMnO₄ though, however delicious it looks

in the US, cassia can legally be labelled and sold as cinnamon, but I believe it can't in europe
-F

Show thread

for those who don't know the difference:

cinnamon is the bark of the cinnamomum verum tree, which is difficult to grow and picky about climate. cassia is the bark of cinnamomum cassia, a related but hardier tree that's easier to grow
