fun fact: most people know that star fox's 3d was done by the super fx chip. most people don't know that there was a super fx 2, or that it was used in yoshi's island for all its sprite scaling and rotation--things the snes is not normally capable of doing to sprites (it can do it to backgrounds, though; that's what the famous mode 7 is)
