let it be placed on public record that this can of tab has now been opened, and should it reappear in the fridge unopened we shall have cause to suspect Shenanigans
this is a pretty much completely useless, but technically true list
light is the fastest thing in the universe, sound travels pretty damn fast, scents just kinda slowly fluff out into the room, and things you touch and taste, all else being equal, don't move on their own to reach a stationary observer (unless the things are alive or have some kind of motor, but we're ignoring that)
we seem to really get tactile metaphors better than visual ones

politics thought, future historians
i wonder, in the distant future, will people talk about the USian empire in positive terms or negative ones?
i'm reasonably certain there will be talk of a USian empire. But whether they're referring to how the US is today, which is basically an empire in all but name, or some kind of awful future expansionist USA, remains to be seen
i really hope far future people don't talk about the current or future US as a great empire, but rather as--at the very least--a dark stain on USian history
also: why do the emerging technologies that are most exciting and interesting seem to be the ones that are getting the least progress
FRAM is still super expensive, MRAM is even more expensive than FRAM, and μLEDs are barely even talked about
