the "you're becoming who you are" narrative of transness always bothers me, but i need space to explain this.

who i am doesn't exist to society, and i never got tools to understand it. i am becoming who i *want* to be, and i don't even know all the details yet.

i wanted a name that sounded like space so that when i say i have a weird gender from space, it won't be a surprise

i want pronouns that aren't of the human realm so it's not a surprise when i don't really seem like a human

Let me make something clear: "having a debate" about the basic rights and dignity owed to a minority group isn't some sort of pure, intellectual inquiry. Just framing a minority's rights, dignity and equality as a subject that is up for discussion *is* an act of devaluing them.

This is *another* reminder that it's free to not comment on a Black woman's post. White queers really do log on just to "correct" Black people and it's corny, obnoxious and racist

Sometimes friendships don't work out the way you imagined it would. People grow, change, as does your relationship with them. And with this change comes a point where people might not be on the same page ever again.
It's better to end and move on otherwise you'll only be toxic to each other.

In the case of both prison and the government, people are operating with some really wild ideas about:
- who is in there
- why they "deserve" to be there, and
- why both institutions must continue to exist.
