@CaribenxMarciaX Yeeep, I am pretty disappointed to see just how widespread the problem of moral narcissism is on here.
re: uspol - elections (selections)
@thufie Quite honestly, it's the whole system of capitalism doing this, forcing us to work our entire lives away and keeping us worrying about making the next rent.
Studies have shown that people under constant stress have limited cognitive capabilities, because a lot of brain power had gone to worrying about survival.
The chronically busy are often kept unaware or dissuaded from any form of activism outside of the ones they can't avoid.
You can see where I am going with this. I am willing to play for small gains, but my eyes are firmly on the big prize, internationalism, disarmament, the death of interventionism and the ultranationalism that feeds into it, and the death of capitalism.
re: personal
@CaribenxMarciaX Exactly, I think the need to hear my story of how I used to be from 2015-2018, because that was absolutely a definitive proof that a trans poc can be toxic to other people, even those of their own group, and it seems that a lot of other leftists don't see that.
There needs to be a frank discussion on the Fedi's failure to hold itself accountable.
@Siph if we're talking about the PM of the UK, then yes. He's absolute trash.
re: uspol - elections (selections)
@thufie Regardless of what happens, I am going to continue doing agit prop, because that's all I really can do right now.
re: uspol - elections (selections)
@thufie It also benefits the people who are born to lower-income families in the US, LGBT folk who gets pushed down the social and economic ladder into a vulnerable state, and have no means of escaping the country.
Not having to worry about your HRT being taken away because republighouls decided trans people deserve to be pathologized and treated like lepers is one thing, I mean there are a lot of things Trump is going to do if he gets 4+ more years that would spell disaster for a lot of vulnerable people that Biden simply won't be caught dead doing.
The road to liberation is long and hard fought. I don't find the all-or-nothing attitude of puritopians to be helpful at all. We'll be in a better position to fight with each small victory we get.
re: uspol - elections (selections)
@thufie While I agree with everything else, I find the dismissive language used to describe monsters like Bush and Trump as merely "bad politics man" to be a bit suspect, since that's the same sort of language fascists use to mock us for criticizing Trump.
I carry no illusions that Biden winning will fix much, but to say that it isn't harm reduction is....reductive at best. The real takeaway here is that voting out bad actors should not be the end of the struggle, but the beginning.
Fedi meta
Sooner or later, we're going to have to sit everyone on the Fedi down and have a frank talk about the racism problem, instead of pretending that there isn't one. And we're going to have to discuss what we are going to do to address and shut down ongoing anti-black, anti-gay, anti-trans anti-minority in general harassment campaigns beyond lip service and performative wokeness.
I don't think we can afford to be passive about this anymore. I think we need to start thinking about ways to enact direct action against bad faith actors. And what we can do to lift the more vulnerable among us upwards.
Unskilled labor is a myth that employers use as an excuse to pay workers less.
Any labor takes some amount of skill to do. Just because quote-unquote "anyone can do it" doesn't make it unskilled. And what's more, many "unskilled jobs" are imperative to our society and its functioning. They are as important as, if not more than, the work of managers, executives, and "higher-ups."
Fuck anyone who puts you down by telling you that your work is unskilled or deserves to be exploited more. Your work is valuable. And so are you.
@astra I am pupy
Excellent progress tonight!
Finished the latest pass on Donnie's route. Moved the needle on music direction and other improvements for Pixelle's route to the 52% mark. More of the same tomorrow!

Birdsite link, re:earlier white bullshit
So cursehole on twitter deleted his original thread and started to backpedal and spread a new narrative that he never bought a human skull from india, which is a blatant lie. He also tried to smear the whistleblower.

We must fight for a world where all game projects large and small get reasonable living-wage funding, no grueling 100-hour weeks, and the creators don't have to live in their cars while teaching kids full time (me) cause they have no family wealth / privilege / get gatekept from grants & loans.
Cyberpunk 2077's parent company represents the opposite hellworld.
