about insults
I really wish people didn't use terms like "people who can't have a normal one", "freaks" and "weirdoes" as insults at all, to be honest. As a neurodivergent and xenogender aroace, I've seen these used to attack people like me and others who just ~do/are weird things/cringy~ way too much for me to see them as harmless insults that can be used to attack bigots with no consequences.

"UK Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch met with transphobic group LGB Alliance, who campaign against gender being discussed in schools, government disclosures reveal."
The official response:
"A government Equality Hub spokesperson said: "The Government consulted extensively as part of its work on the Gender Recognition Act. That is why the GEO [Government Equalities Office] and its ministerial team met with more than 140 stakeholders, and it was entirely appropriate that views from all sides of the debate were heard.”"
Nice for one's existence to be a matter of debate, isn't it? Absolutely no echoes of Section 28 here, nope! /s

Queer looking for a home, boosts appreciated
Might as well throw it out there:
We're looking for a room to rent in the Detroit metro area/suburbs with access to M-59 or I-75 so we can get to work. Must be queer, 420, and plural friendly. Cats/dogs are a bonus.
It's not an emergency but we're stuck at our parents' house atm and it's bad for our mental health. We have income and we genuinely like cooking on our off days and cleaning.

If anything, it's the event that got a lot of dangerous dark empaths to go mask off and out themselves as emotionally predatory.

I have to say, things are much nicer now that the defederation of problematic instance went through.
I don't have to wonder as much if an esoteric shitpost is just that or meant to twist the knife at someone's suffering. I feel safer knowing that more of my interactions here are in good faith.
I also feel safer knowing that I won't have to bear witness to as much DARVO from those bad actors poisoning the discourse. I feel safer.
Black woman: *states thst queerness doesn't absolve you of racism*
Inevitably, one of you chucklefucks: "Yeah, OK, well that's transphobic, unfollowing :("

Politics, not news
"Divide and conquer" is an age-old tactic because it works. Every last wedge in the squabbling Left is proof of that. The more you make someone fight amongst themselves, the less work YOU have to do.
So why not pit the elites against each other like they do with us? Make the government provide a car. Is it ugly? Sure. But it runs and it's cheap. Suddenly people can get a budget car that's reliable. But Ford makes sure that government car stays reliable.
Finally put this up publicly on twitter so I'll post it again here.
Here's my new experiment in distributing writing: If you've written anything about DIY, small games, or anti-capitalist tech and transform it into a .pdf booklet, I'll print it and distribute it at cost for you through Plaintext Distro at online zine fairs https://plaintextdistro.neocities.org/
This is not (currently) a profit-making endeavor, to be clear. I don't want people putting themselves out too much to make new work. It's very old-school zine economics in that it's about the satisfaction of your work being out there in a different format and maybe breaking even.
If that's fine with you, especially if you already have work you distribute for free digitally and want to try something different with, then let me know!! I will do my best to be able to offer any submissions I get thru mid-March at the Glasgow Zine Festival in April.
