uspol, queer issues, supreme court
In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court has decided in a 6-3 ruling that queer workers *cannot* be fired for their sexual orientation. A similar ruling on transgender protections is expected soon.
section 1557, original source link, call to action
Here's the exact language that was changed according to HHS: https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2020/06/12/hhs-finalizes-rule-section-1557-protecting-civil-rights-healthcare.html
A good summary of the impact: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/06/12/868073068/transgender-health-protections-reversed-by-trump-administration
This will not go into effect for at least 60 days. If you can, please call your state and federal electeds to raise visibility and help them fast track relevant legislation to block this.
Shit what the CHAZ needs
@Aradia (Is anyone staffing a courier drop or PO Box for folks that would like to donate, but can't make it there in person?)

@ElectricKeet (Some previous sessions from my perspective are here, with others relatively easy to find on Twitch: https://m.twitch.tv/goldkindrake)
ALttPR "glitch"?
@ElectricKeet Friends of mine and I do a weekly multiworld session that we try to keep accessible (via Discord), so do let me know if you're ever interested in that.
We have folks in it ranging from standard simple logic to inverted keysanity door shuffle, with occasional SMZ3 combo rando tossed in for fun, and we're always happy to add one more.
ALttPR "glitch"?
@ElectricKeet Pretty sure you were in super bunny mode. There are quite a few ways to activate it! https://alttp-wiki.net/index.php/Bunny_Glitches
seapol, protests
Twitler is threatening violence in Seattle tonight (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1270914092295950337), within an hour of reporting in NYT that lethal ammo stockpiles existed last week during the DC protests (paywalled source, sorry): https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/10/us/politics/national-guard-protests.html
The phrase "to be used on American citizens in case of emergency" is chilling AF and is hopefully editorializing. Regardless, please stay safe out there and double check your exit strategies just in case.
[1.Ch.] Acts of Solidarity
@orrery Shout-out to this person's other flights, which are documented on their infrequently-updated birdsite account: https://mobile.twitter.com/DimitriNeonakis
blm rebellions
@Kyresti There's also the fact that the response from multiple police forces (hello, SPD, LAPD, NYPD) has been to ramp up violence and to reduce accountability even further. And that's before considering the federal response of building a private militia and threatening a repeat of Tiananmen Square (which seems worryingly likely on its now anniversary). To say nothing of Lafayette Park.
So yeah, I'd say that's all cause for momentum.
uspol, hope, long read
In the spirit of this, I'm going to reach out to the head of HR who, 8 years ago, showed me empathy during a corporate coup where I then-worked. I think we all need to hear at this time that (1) even the small acts of rebellion matter and (2) people do remember them.
uspol, hope, long read
For folks that are feeling low or scared tonight, or feeling that what they're doing isn't enough, doesn't matter, or that nothing will change, this is a long but valuable read: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/07/trumps-collaborators/612250/
