I need advice about Nintendo DS or Gameboy Advance (OK to RT)

@frameacloud
* Art Academy (DS compilation)
* Professor Layton and the Curious Village (and its series thereafter)
* Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (and its series)
* Any of the Picross titles
* Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky
* Mario Golf: Advance Tour (has a timing mechanic for hitting the ball, but isn’t too bad)

re, contains infosec + pol mention

@amphetamine@social.wxcafe.net @spacekookie@octodon.social The grimly funny thing is, I _think_ this is because of the huge bot disinfo campaign happening right now because of KSA/Khashoggi. So this is them doing spam and account takeover protection by... testing for Arabic characters in a profile change.

Pardon me why I scream into the void about how there are less xenophobic ways to do that, especially when they’re sitting on so much data. asdghjkkffhvd

Secret Little Haven is really close to 50 reviews on Steam, which would push it up in the rating algorithm in Steam a fair bit!

I would really appreciate it if you took the time to give the game a review if you've played it! <3

They're still /that/ radioactive.

The discounts are incidental

Politics, US Pol

@porsupah Marcy’s hypothesis is that he’s choosing to speak through legal filings that the public can see, given the amount of scrutiny on his case docket.

This helps explain the amount of detail and timing of the IRA indictment, as well as how Manafort was originally and supplementally charged.

Her assumption is, that will happen again here, too.

Politics, US Pol

@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online PPS: Marcy has an interesting take on what might be going on here: emptywheel.net/2018/11/26/mana

Politics, US Pol

@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online I guess this substantively doesn’t add much other than agreement, so I guess it’s better to wait and see. And, also agreed that it’s a really strange position.

Politics, US Pol

@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online On the other hand (deleting the longer version), people smarter than I am on this are also saying it could indeed be inherent (as above, and supported by attorneys like Ken White) or completely unrelated to Manafort’s intent at cooperation.

I guess it’s important to remember that it doesn’t need to be just one of these things. I think we’ll find out more closer to sentencing.

Politics, US Pol

@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online This may be a cynical read, but for him to not be cooperating at this stage — when he is looking at the rest of his life in jail and already incarcerated — indicates he’s thinking more about threats to his life and his family than the possibility of life in prison.

Which means whatever he knows may be damning enough to powerful people that it’s a logical play.

+, holiday followup

Today was better. The relatively simple dinner we had with roommate's family helped, as did spending time with folks on that side that I don't normally see.

I still need to figure out how to make holidays not... cause me to crash so hard. Slow steps, one at a time, I think.

In short: ramble ramble, flail, flop, I wish I knew how to holiday anymore.

-, working through a mood crash because of the holiday

I did do a bit of social gaming, which was very good for me during the holiday proper. My mood crashed when I came up for air from that, and that... isn’t something I’m used to.

I’ll also assuredly be okay. But I... think I should be doing more than mood stabilization and self-care? I’m not sure.

I just wish I knew what to do other than feel kind of adrift and appreciative at a distance, while continuing to self-isolate from old anxiety.

-, working through a mood crash because of the holiday

My holidays with friends were the best I ever had, and I miss them so very, very much right now.

I’ll be doing a small thanksfeasting thing tomorrow with my roommate’s friends and family, and that will be good, I think.

I’m putting this here, mostly, because I want to figure this out. I miss my once-friends, I miss my once-community, and I don’t know how to work through any of the complexity that caused me to isolate in the first place.
