@obscurestar it is actual patriotism to want your country - your community just writ large - to be an okay place to live. What's not patriotic are people who see said community-writ-large as an opportunity for unfettered profiteering, no matter how much they've always controlled the rhetoric about anthems, pledges, flags, guns and crosses.

Idk about you but that juxtaposition feels really weird.

So something pressed the "you won't be missed" buttons over on Twitter and I deactivated my account.

This was probably too much heat of the moment and not enough thinking in long term.

I think I am going to wait until at least tomorrow morning to decide if I'll reactivate the account or not. I've *got* 30 days.

I had to do some paperwork for an agency, so I broke out the scanner, and getting it to print then having my old Photoshop crash after really cleaning up an elaborate image, was so frustrating that I decided okay, that's it for scanning tonight. I'm getting better at realizing the tunnel vision I get when angry or stressed doesn't reflect a permanent unchanging state.

But when a lot of people in the game have been labeled evil, come from a family history of being the official evil people, or the evildoers conveniently line up with old prejudiced stereotypes, then there's a lot less utility to it.

#drawings this morning, fight between human with jian and some sorta orc/ogre/etc with lian dao, and three undead (spiked zombie, stitched flesh familiar, exploding skeleton).

I really wish it got made clear from the get-go that grade/high school anything isn't meant to be a complete guide to whatever; it's a shallow sampler, meant to give you a *basic* understanding, and if you want to get more into whatever there are other opportunities to do so. That's the best case scenario; anyone who's studied say, the Cold War or Reconstruction knows they've been actively lied to.

Why would what's at best a simplified version of gender, at worst pushed for someone else's convenience, be a definitive understanding of biology?
