#drawings today not including one which really didn’t work. Mostly finishing stuff from Tuesday but I wanted to redo some stuff in Friday’s drawing.

@frost yeah. In terms of cooking in the future, you can boil them in a mix of water and soup stock to get soup; you *can* pan fry them for the entire time, but I tend to like boiling dumplings in water in a pan for a little bit just to make sure they're cooked through, then pan frying them to finish them out. I don't think a cast iron pan would be good for that.
@frost I think they should be okay - frozen and how boiling/pan frying is going to eventually cook them through means even if they were pork, you'd still have a little time to play with before you'd run into trouble.
Winnie the Pu-erh, about the titular bear getting wildly caffeinated
initial plan to get congee for late breakfast turned into getting stuff to make corned beef hash, which turned into finding whatever was a good price, so I made hash but also chopped onion and red pepper for later, made more marinade than needed for fish and put it in with some half price burgers.

I wonder if "Time" was like those Beatles songs where someone decides to mix two similar song ideas?
@topaz oh how cool! Apparently I've been making genmaicha wrong all this time. I'm not great with tea, since my introduction to tea drinking was my dad and HIS introduction was what, a British chemistry department? so it's all about the "dump hot flavored water down throat quickly"

@topaz the bakery where I used to work really liked doing loose leaf tea in a *French press* would you believe it? And since tea leaves aren't as fine as coffee grounds it wasn't as much a pain in the ass to clean up afterwards. If you can find one, sometimes there are teakettles with this integral basket where you dump the water through and let it steep
@topaz OH! But the big reason I was thinking of this the other night was 'cause of Taisun Mixed Congee, which is canned sweet bean glop, and usually a place that has that stuff will have like peanut soup and things, canned stuff that might work really well for quick blood sugar.
@topaz Koreana Plaza used to be my fave place to shop while I lived in Oakland/Alameda but I don't remember what their selection of tea was like. The Ranch 99 Market in Richmond is pretty good too AND they're in the same complex as has a Tea Ren, which I used to like for my favorite Ti Quan Yin
gonna speak some outright heresy here; "That's the Way" is the best song on Led Zeppelin III, not "Immigrant Song"
but hell the whole album's really good, it's right up there with IV and Houses of the Holy as their best album
