@Chip_Unicorn idk; I feel like that I fuck up, that some of the people invariably way better at whatever than me will be younger, and that since every generation has different experiences in a lot of ways the kids had it tougher than us, etc. I feel like people older than me usually have a lot of disdain for anyone younger.

Why is everyone I know younger than me? Oh that’s right, because most people older than me I can’t fucking stand…

@zebratron2084 and while I definitely have had my share of the real stuff, who can say how much of my mistreatment by my family is a holdover of some great grandparent or their parent getting fucked up emotionally?
And the secret masters thing; we aren’t a big group. It’s like trans folks; if you want to spew bile about Jews there’s little chance a Jew will be *around* to countermand them… and if you say anything you get dismissed as over sensitive, OR WORSE happens.

@zebratron2084 the thing about any marginalized group is its history is going to be made invisible even to itself, there are things about Jewish history I’m still learning. Very little of it is nice; our society talks like antisemitism was just Germany in the 30s/40s, but… my family came here because of a rash of pogroms from 1900-1905. Some of them had a Spanish name, they got kicked out after Isabella went back on her word and obliterated a centuries old subculture, etc.

@zebratron2084 Peggy might have some Toppi comics. But yeah cats are good. Thing about cats is that they’re adults where dogs are perma-puppies; a cat is a lot more likely to be their own person who’s cuddly/standoffish/likes you/hates tummy pets/etc. I think people just don’t get that there’s a lot more variety to personalities and they’re not all basically the same cat.

@zebratron2084 Sergio Toppi, a completely brilliant comic artist with no fear of exaggeration or abstract patterns.
