Gonna get out of here and eat enough weed to visit Barnard’s Star.

There’s one place where my Dad’s politics, usually slightly uncomfortable centrist, are distinctly right of mine. Talking about that isn’t comfy at all!

@topaz that looks like baked in grease. It’d be hard to get out without a really heavy duty scrubber but I don’t think having it there will hurt anything.

so nice that 6 months after Pride we get an Older Gay Bear holiday

Also the Scandinavian specialty store had this beautifully crafted axe hanging next to all the paintings of longships, presumably in case you get inspired to RAGING BESERKIRGANG among the shrimp sandwiches.

I went into this Scandinavian specialty store and, true to Sweden’s cultural heritage, they didn’t have the answer to why G-d remains silent.

the existence of a "powerbottom" implies similar sub genres such as "deathbottom," "folkbottom," and "stonerbottom"

@Querral oh, one of those "this will CHANGE THE WORLD" stories screenshot and shared around Bluesky. In this case, a startup eagerly trying how to figure out how to engineers could use lucid dreaming to code without having to be awake for it.

@LexYeen afaik;

* Octopus' Garden is literally the only Ringo song they ever released, they might have done others in rehearsal

* "Paperback Writer" came out of George daring Paul to write something which wasn't about a girl and it's still a please love me song

* John at least occasionally wrote songs so they'd be hard to parse.

stylistic breakdown of Beatles songs

Paul: there was a pretty girl and OH PLEASE LOVE ME I NEED YOU TO COMPLETELY ADORE ME

John: Oi, you think you've figured me out then m8? What d'ye reckon THIS is about then? You know bugger all!

George: we are not separate from the river of existence, only swimming against the current, futile as it is, creates that illusion

Ringo: I like duckies AND trains!

@joabaldwin I'm reminded here of Iain McCaig talking about how he completely revered Norman Rockwell and studied Rockwell paintings whenever he was trying to figure things out, until he actually went outside and drew grass out of actually looking at it. McCaig's a great storyteller, so this might not be completely literal, but it sounds really good.

@topaz @frost I tend to roll badly while playing D&D. Almost never horrible critical failure bad, but just unexciting failure bad.

* cranks the volume on Master of Puppets *

* jumps across the chasm between a captured Illithid nautiloid to an astral skiff to take on the githyanki, +3 Sunblade flashing bright in the cold vacuum of space *

* in slow motion *

* promptly rolls an 8 *

please note that I revere "One" too much to filk it about githyanki knights fighting neogi in Faerun's crystal sphere or some shit

not even "Master of Puppets" (Metallica's second best song) gets that level of respect

fine it's time for Metallica's best track

had they written nothing else of note, "One" would still make them one of the greatest bands of all time

also I'm listening to Metallica, so as is tradition;

10 15 13 16 12 17

this character RULES!

sadly this “ogre clubber” miniature is just an ogre with a big club rather than an ogre in raver gear appropriate for Shadowrun
