coyote sing along hour
tears on the sleeve of a man
don't want to be a boy today
heard the eternal footman
bought himself a bike to race
Greg he writes letters and burns his CDs
they say you were something in those formative years
hang on to nothing as fast as you can
oh, still a pretty good year.
oh, still a pretty good year.
this is either enlightened, incredibly disappointing, maybe both. I've been taught my anger makes me a monster, that the consequences would be disproportionate and terrible, and I'd never considered what might happen if I expressed how profoundly pissed off I was AND didn't immediately get slammed for it. And, I hate to say it, I don't think it'd actually feel satisfying to get away with just cutting loose.
I cite Necrons as proof of the inherent coolness of skeletons. Even Arnie couldn’t make a skeleton robot cooler. Literally the only way to make skeleton robots cooler is to give them glowing plasma weapons, possibly cyclopean eyes, spidery legs or an anti grav platform.
Related hot take, GW should totally bring back translucent green plastic parts, that was unusually awesome.
Hot Halloween take; no matter what it is, it’s automatically cool if it’s skeletal undead or an orc. Orcish pugilists? Shambling Byzantine taghmatoi? Orc ninja versus skeletal samurai? Awesome. This is not just because big green or gray dudes are cooler with tusks, this is also because skulls are cool, as we all learned in high school. Nigh unstoppable, possibly unthinking, a skeleton is basically like a robot and robots are cool, but with a skull, so that makes it AWESOME.
Yesterday’s #drawing was seasonal enough I tried to bust ass on it. Dream of the nineties and stuff.
when I picked up the FAT Voter's Guide I thought there were a ton of really nuanced state propositions. There aren't, it's fat 'cause its mostly candidates for all state district elections.
The state propositions are all "should we cut all environmental regulation so we can raise the student-teacher ratio?" That sorta not-nuanced.
#subpost you know I WAS going to say this one post isn't true because the greatest Japanese food ever is agedashi dofu, but THAT'S not true either. The greatest Japanese food ever is taiyaki.

also recently I realized (or probably rerealized), that there are a lot of ways to be successful (or failed, and they're not necessarily exclusive); it's just the whole financially well off, has laundry list of big obvious achievements, married with kids is the easiest to *see*, and therefore is portrayed as the only success there *is*.
uspol, but fairly personal mh -
yesterday's realization that this election pushes some fairly personal buttons;
* people considered to be good seem to get away with anything, as though it's been decided that because they've been the officially good people in the past, that can't change.
* the ADHD/C/PTSD screwed perception of time. I heard about Trump nonstop before 2016, in 2017-2020 even when I was less politically active because I was depressed and sick he was still there, after 2020 he was constantly there thanks to ever-new items of bullshit he'd pulled in office, now it's 2024 and even if he somehow loses I anticipate election denial, possible insurrection, and further new items to mean he's constantly there. To my broken brain all this feels like I've almost never lived and will never live without his constant threat.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
