I was listening to the soundtrack to the best chambara film ever made, and realized; Kurosawa staged scenes with full awareness of value contrasts (since he’s shooting in b/w) between outfits, he uses this to really point out Mifune especially.

Not my story but his. My invertebrate biology professor on college was a pretty cool guy. At one point decades in the past, he attends a conference in the Bahamas. There’s a lot of drinking in the evening... which in turn means he needs to use the bathroom.

He stumbles towards the urinal, unzips, does his thing and FLASH! the whole toilet lights up.

His first thought is Wow, what was in that drink anyway?

I honestly don’t know where my sex life is going, if anywhere. It doesn’t help that I worry about being perceived as old, a failure, and desperately broken. I wish I had a more fun thing to share, maybe I’ll talk about dolphin tf or something later.

No car access(told I was too inept to drive), no job (told I needed to focus on my studies), no internet. I barely masturbated as a result of indoctrination, lack of knowledge, lack of fap material, a huge haze of depression.

So... I was sort of trained to be asexual almost. I don’t really know how to flirt, i have been in relationships but it takes nearly nothing to scare me away from dating or sexual encounters in meatspace, and while I have a libido I have no clue if it’s normal.

So. I’ve always looked younger than my actual age. I went through college looking like a high schooler and I went through high school looking not good. Part of puberty hitting late was not enough food. When I started college I was 5’9” and 125 lbs. or so.

Not only did I mature later but I’d been indoctrinated that I was a misfit ugly horror and nobody would date or screw me. My parents didn’t notice my lack of social life; I was pulling down good SATs and a 4.0 GPA. (Cont)

People harshing on the Starbucks thing. Oh no homeless folks will show up. Why do you even give a cf? These people have literally nothing, may as well give some temporary shelter. Look if they don’t panhandle in the store and don’t fuck up the bathroom, the worst things they can do are smell bad and remind me that I’m an uncomfortably short distance from dying on the street too. Put on All Them Witches’ “Dying Surfer Meets His Maker” album, and within 4 minutes I just wanna be on the road heading north to Portland. It’s just that good.

Y’know. I was gonna skip “Solo,” because it made me feel exploited (“hey you’re aging and nerdy, so you’ll go apeshit for a Han movie right?”). But now I’m getting the impression it pisses off the usual “oh NOES they cruelly inflicted diversity into Star Wars” types, which automatically makes it more appealing, and it *does* look like it has a train heist (yes I know that being appealing makes me aging and nerdy).
