Here’s where it gets personal. I was in a really nasty childhood accident where some people were really negligent, and legal settlement from that accident paid my way through undergrad AFAIK; that gave me a few more chances in life. I want similar options for kids who survived, BUT the police are the obvious negligent party here, and I don’t think the survivors’ families are permitted to file suit, are they?

How do I say this.

The dead are dead, their suffering is over. But there were a lot more kids who survived this, and now the PTSD will inform the rest of their years in school, which is not necessarily a safe bet for recovery. And if it isn't - and they've already just lived through The Adult Authorities Are Happy To Say Platitudes But Aren't Going to Help, and they'll be under attack if they even vaguely try to speak up about what happened - some of them will kill themselves in high school and others will push through with this screwing them up the rest of their lives.

What I survived is similar but mild sauce by comparison. I have real mixed feelings about gun control and maybe that's another post but the thing I'm 3000% sure of is that nobody in that school deserved this.

the good news is I figured out a little more of what I didn't like about last night's inks, and I'm finally chill enough to try sleeping again soon; the bad news is that homemade spaghetti sauce over two hours from bedtime gets the sort of acid reflux that used to require a very large chorizo burrito and two large margaritas.

As an aside, darnit, my favorite Mexican place on the island is out of business, replaced by some sort of Very Nice Cuisine With Wine And Definitely Not Live Mariachis With Slightly Mistuned Violins Like Ever. Not like I was gonna be on the island any time soon but screw that.

I made pelmeni soup basically to feel out augmenting chicken stock as a quick base. And the persian cucumbers you get at Safeway, that's a lot for one person! So I sauteed about a third of the bag, put about a third into a salad which is in the fridge to marinate some, and a third of the cucumbers are left.

#drawings today were naked (nothing showing so technically SFW, but you might want to be cautious anyway) furry pinups, mostly trying to work larger and to get more fur texture in there.
