okay, talked to another recruiter, but follow up with account manager hasn't happened yet. Vacuumed the floors, getting rid of more trash. I'm gonna get coffee and hide in my sketchbooks and magazines for a while.

oh geez I *hadn't* realized that "goedendag" is pronounced Nederlands style - not German. And one story of origin for the name is that after Bruges the Flemish were able to figure out who was French by calling out to them, and yep... it's a shibboleth in the classical sense, the way "Schrevengringer" is used by the Dutch to flush out Germans in "Soldier of Orange."

Seriously. I spent October sick and around Halloween was spent stressed out thanks to the landlords here. Thanksgiving was marked by the car's timing belt breaking. Could we have a do-over on Halloween and maybe Thanksgiving?

But not Christmas, because Christmas would have been ass even without the ice storm and the 6 hour long upstairs party that *started* at midnight.

I am the shadow on the moon at night!
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright!
This is Halloween, this is Halloween!
Halloween! Halloween!
Halloween! Halloween!
In this town, we call home, everyone hail to the Pumpkin Throne!

in a pyromantic way, I'm the same
waiting for her to ignite
you are the first you'll be the last
you'll be my final words

some days you just need to look at another gray sky here at what feels like the end of all things, and crank "Lucretia My Reflection," y'know?

come closer and see
see into the dark
just follow your eyes
follow your eyes

i hear her voice calling my name
sound is deep in the dark
i hear her voice and i start to run
into the trees
into the trees

into the trees

Scrubbed the bathtub, put in for a batch of work, phone interview soon.

Cattle die, kinsmen die, I too shall die. But I know something that doesn't die.

YOU CAN'T FORTELL A FIGHT

update; having listened to all of Powerslave I'm now listening to all of Peace of Mind.

If I suddenly declare my intent to run an AD&D game (4d6-lowest, you get one 18 free, single classed demihumans can advance to 2-4 levels higher than the rules give), you'll understand why.

As more musical background;

I grew up with access to either my Dad's mostly-classical music, or whatever was on the top 40s stations. This didn't include what kids were SUPPOSED to listen to (as indicated by bullying) - namely, COOL bands. Like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and uh... Led Zeppelin?

Anyway, growing older, Priest and AC/DC largely aren't my thing, but I'm delighted that Maiden is pretty much everything 15 year old me wanted, and Zeppelin really fits who I am now. It's nice.

Froggle Rack, about anthro frogs with strangely outsized busts

Given how well I didn't sleep last night and general background stress, the "you are actually a TERRIBLE PERSON!" thoughts are unsurprising, relatively easy to dismiss as specious, and still pretty annoying.

it's time to practically hyperventilate at any video of a cat rolling on the floor and mewing! Something which surely never happens!

Wanna know a WWII film I'd like to see? Would be a Battle of Britain/Red Wings type thing based off "Big Week," where the bomber campaign is simply a feint to pull German fighters, with the Germans scrambling to adapt their tactics.

... and basically it'd be 2 hours of awesome planes.

WA has a lot of really cool stuff about 1-2 hours away, and I'm now finding that it works as a stand-in for road tripping but I wish I could take longer trips.

one thing to come out of the OGL 1.x flap is initial confirmation of my suspicions; following in the footsteps of 2e and 4e, 6e will be a great edition with some amazing innovations which will be largely despised.
