most of my friends have sleek muscular sports brains or reliable efficient little prius brains or even arty zippy vespa brains.

me, i am the '64 chevy malibu from repo man. best car on the lot. zero to saturn in thirty seconds.

but when it's stuck on earth pretending not to be a spaceship, it's just an ordinary gas guzzling, slow turning, drab-lookin', mildly radioactive piece of shit.

@zebratron2084

Do you even know how many /mods/ I've had to cram into this brain to get it anywhere close to functional? And that I feel I've only gotten a handle on that in the last few weeks with new focus meds (Adderall)--as opposed to the rest of my entire life. :-P

I think my brain might have originally been a Honda CRX (always wanted one), but by now it's something out of Mad Max, with huge speakers and a flaming electric guitar that work 60% of the time. :-P

@emanate @zebratron2084 The image of my own Executive Function Module dangling from rubber straps, yanked hither and thither atop a warwagon as it tries to play 'House of the Rising Sun' on an unholy union between a Strat Squire and a Yugo's exhaust system, is...

Well, it's *alarmingly* accurate. XD

self-knowledge

@Momentrabbit @zebratron2084 @emanate put it this way: I'm clueless about cars, but I have for years (decades) described my brain as a series of hamster wheels connected to an intricate network of rubber bands. sometimes the hamsters are on-task and the whole thing works great. sometimes the hamsters get distracted, or a rubber band breaks. sometimes the hamsters get eaten by weasels. did I mention there's also weasels? my lymphatic system is full of weasels.

self-knowledge

@green @emanate @Momentrabbit Oh, lordy, don't let 'em out around @literorrery, they'll get all mixed up with her bunis and it'll be Trouble With Tribbles all over again

(Definitely keep the weasels penned up. >_>;; )

self-knowledge

@Momentrabbit @emanate @literorrery @zebratron2084 now I'm imagining hamsterbunnies, but it seems a bit redundant--they're basically the same thing. long-eared hamsters and short-eared rabbits. and a LOT of them.

(prepares to be buni-mauled)

fortunately the brainweasels are not contagious--no, wait, they can be memetically contagious, but I've got an extremely good filter on that particular exhaust port nowdays. :)
