@zx3 When we were young, we flung scrap into trees haphazard and made forts for ourselves that could have crashed down in an instant. Reckless.
Now we prune and hem and haw and carefully, cautiously, *gently* apply tiny forces to groves, hoping to graft ourselves onto a branch and bear fruit again.
In time, again, we'll look at ourselves now and say 'how were we ever so bold, so reckless, so openhearted.' As we do now of who we were once.

@zebratron2084 Laser rifles never ejected casings or needed ammo refills or recharging. I could see an argument for retconning/reusing the M16 hardware, build high-densisty chemical batteries into the magazines or clips and turn the entire bolt assembly into a single resonator gas laser assembly (CO2, trace elements argon for good side, neon for bad side for the glow effects), but just hang a lampshade on it or something!

The nest of bunnies, hidden below a planter in our back yard. Guessing they're about two, maybe two and a half weeks old now? Another week and they'll be leaving the nest, weaning, and running. Always running. A world of dangers.
But for just this moment, a gift. Full tummies, warmth, closeness, family, safety. Security.

Do people know what phone books are these days?
Anyway, I love this bit of trivia: phone books used filler items, usually stuff like public service announcements, to fill space when the listings and ad buys didn't line up quite right.
One of the rules for placing filler was:
"Call Before You Dig!" can't go in the Mortuaries section.
