@mawr I think it was inherited from one of their parents, the art style was like... 1920s, 1930s.
Suddenly remembering an ornament my folks put on the Christmas tree every year that featured Santa stuffing a kid into a sack. It scared the willies out of me when I was younger and I'd move it toward the back of the tree so I didn't have to see it.
