I'm coming to realize that part of my concept of "home" is a place that has bird feeders and a garden. Not because they're actually necessary, but because they mean that people are taking care of the place and trying to make it a nicer environment.

She's trying to make sure to include important aspects of sexuality and gender, such as orientation and gender identity (which are currently lacking from the curriculum).
