This isn't about forgiveness, because that's not really what we're talking about, that's a personal thing. It's about how we distance ourselves from Bad Things by saying they're done by Bad People. That they're identities that lead behaviors and as long as you're not a Bad Person, you're good. You can had bad behaviors, wrong beliefs, broken frameworks, and all this stuff can combine in complex ways because humans are complex and there's rarely a single, simple reason for anything we do.
