One year when I was doing these roses spoof poems I actually forgot how the original went.
roses poetry, "this is just to say"
This is just to say
I have eaten
the roses
you kept in
the icebox
and which
you were definitely
mistaken
in putting there
They're roses
what's wrong with you
they don't go in the icebox
what do you mean what's wrong with me

the roses
I had to
that's how the poem begins
yes the thorns hurt a lot
sometimes
we do foolish things for love

The second ends in blue
But this form is like a sonnet
There's a lot of exploration to do
Roses are white
I can't see the lawn
This snowfall is pretty

Snow update: My waterproof boots from LL Bean didn't even notice the snow. I already knew they were good, now I know they're _good_.
Also it's like six inches here and very pleasant to look at but quite a bit of effort to slog through. XD
