an important note: the Texas governor's directive is not strictly legally binding and is itself based on a non-binding opinion, not a ruling. policies have not changed. district & county attorneys from two of TX's largest counties have publicly stated they will not be acting on the "new interpretation of the law".
that's not to say this development isn't dire and nightmarish—it is—but there is room to fight. there is room for pressure.
