Check out the cover of MMM2 behind the cut (moderate NSFW)

I wanted to separate this out so I could content warning this part separately, but yo, check out the rad job Angrboda did with the cover!

Boosts appreciated!

Also, this is somehow a real poster I came across today in a Tube station

A friend of mine in real life is really into Transformers, and I can never explain to him why I double-take so heavily whenever he references going to a con called TFNation

US pol

Well, time to go to sleep then see how Anxiety Christmas pans out. Good luck y'all

Non-US folks - remember not to be a jerk to US people today or tomorrow. Boosting voices to go vote, sure, but don't stand on the sidelines and lecture them on how their country *should* be. I'm sure they're aware.

And especially don't be shitty about any bad outcomes, for real. Be happy about positives, but if your impulse is to comment on negatives with "you brought that on yourself when you all X", can I encourage you to instead, hurl yourself into the sun.

@fineursine that's an excellent point, and one that gave me a brief moment of panic that I hadn't considered it, but fortunately the entire office there is having a Diwali party tomorrow, then is on holiday the next two days, so I should be fine at least acknowledging it as a thing

Awkwardly googling "how do you wish someone a happy Diwali" and hoping that the folks in India I deal with find my attempted well-wishing less stiff and insincere than it feels to me.

Long board game discussions

@tfproxy we had 5 players, which I think definitely helped - even though there was a lot more going on, we had more skill sets to deal with things.

They've changed how bad things scale though, which seems to work well. Instead of the one bad card per turn of Eldritch Horror, each player draws 2 tokens from a bag, which can be everything from "spawn a monster" to "nothing happens", which seems to get around EH's "never play with an odd number of people" problem

Update - spent most of the game riding around on my motorbike clonking cultists on the head with a wrench.

Good game, 5 stars

@tfproxy it was good! Definitely way less clunky. It plays a lot like Eldritch Horror but a little more refined, and it seems like they've weighted it so you spend less time trying to do things but failing

@tfproxy this is the new edition of Arkham Horror which just came out, so it's my first time playing that!

@angrboda I was actually tossing up on it before I realized that she was explicitly gay

Sticking it to the memory of HP Lovecraft by playing this board game as the PoC motorcycle-riding lesbian character

Me: Hmm, this podcast going in-depth through various revolutions seems interesting

Me, 3 weeks later: okay so my new D&D character is basically the Marquis de Lafayette; the naive "good" noble who doesn't get that he's not the protagonist. He is my precious boy and I love him.

Allusion to dystopias

My friends are having a Halloween party tonight, but given that the theme is "dystopia", I'm passing on hanging out with a bunch of well-off folks, ironically highlighting all the terrible things in the world right now. Instead I'm spending the night eating candy & watching anime

I regret nothing
